homecourses

ICC teaches Capoeira through Certificate II, III and IV of Sport (Coaching). 50% of each certificate is based on theory of sport coaching and 50% on Capoeira.

Information for All Students

On the first day at the International College of Capoeira, you will attend an orientation session and be issued with a student handbook. The handbook contains detailed information covering all aspects of your course and college

Student ID Card

When you arrive at the International College of Capoeira, and have paid your fees, you will be issued with a Student ID Card with your personal and course details. You will be issued another student card at the commencement of every certificate. If you lose your card, a replacement card will cost $10.00.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OHSC)

If you are on a student visa, you must have health insurance. This is known as O.S.H.C. (Overseas Student Health Cover). You normally pay this insurance when you pay your tuition fees. Medibank is the organisation that manages your O.S.H.C. It will take about 4 weeks for you to receive your Medibank card. Please contact Student Services immediately if you have not yet paid your health insurance.

Fee Payment

All fees must be paid in advance. When we receive your payment, we will give you a receipt and a Student ID Card. Please keep your receipts as you might be asked to produce them If you have not paid your fees your name will not appear on the class roll. When you have paid any outstanding fees, then your name will reappear on the class roll which will allow you to attend the class.

ICC has a policy for the recognition of prior learning (RPL). An application form for RPL is included in the enrolment information. All students have the opportunity to apply for RPL prior to their formal course enrolment. Application forms are sent to all students upon request or can be downloaded from the college website. Staff will examine RPL applications against the stated national competencies of the particular course and applicants are notified of the result as soon as possible. All RPL application needs to be submitted within 14 days before commencement date of the course. Staff is available to assist in these applications and discuss any aspects of RPL.

ICC recognises that competencies can be achieved in a number of ways through:
• submission of appropriate and authorised documentation(original transcripts) which clearly indicates prior qualifications, work, projects and experience
• submission of work/job experience documents
• challenge tests observed by a qualified assessor
• third party reports by appropriate persons (e.g. former employer)
• any other evidence considered appropriate

Action to be taken regarding the results of RPL will be discussed with the Director and trainers as to what effects this will have on the student’s program.
